MARTIN SPAINK
Sarangi-repair
This sarangi took a bad fall and the body broke at the back, at the top of the belly. After carefully glueing, the former crack was reinforced with wooden nails, set in a decorative pattern. I also made a new bone main bridge. The instrument has three main strings of gut, and some 37 sympathetic resonance strings, which, if properly tuned, create a subtle halo of sound.
